The first point to consider when choosing a starter kit is whether you want a standard kit or a tank kit. The difference lies in the atomizer and cartridge construction. The standard atomizer has a metal wick which pulls the e-liquid out of the cartridge which holds the e-liquid in place with a poly-fiber filling. The tank atomizer has a small probe which wicks the e-liquid out of the cartridge which holds the e-liquid in a hollow tank space. There are also many options available for the 510 batteries. You can choose your battery power capacity, usually range from 180-280 mAh. You can choose the color and the color of the L.E.D. on the end of the battery. You can also choose whether you want a manual or an automatic push button battery.
The 510 electronic cigarette automatic batteries are great if you want one that you can just put in your mouth and puff on. However, they do have one draw back. Due to the fact that they use a pressure switch inside the battery, there must be a hole in the top portion of the battery. If you overfill your atomizers with e-liquid, the e-liquid can run down inside the battery and eventually ruin that pressure switch causing the battery to fail
The manual push buttons solve this problem by doing away with the pressure switch, sealing off the battery area, and installing a button on the battery that you push when you take a drag. This may seem strange, but you get used to it very quickly and most people begin to prefer this type of battery. It also allows you to push the button a second before you take a drag to heat up the atomizer so you can take a shorter drag and get more vapor than you could with an automatic battery.

Due to the popularity of this model, there are many atomizers and accessories available. There is also a large selection of cartomizers available with many different levels of resistance which provide varying vapor outputs. There are also some very unique atomizers available that hold up to 6mL of e-liquid which would last days without having to be refiled.
