"I've been a smoker for 33 years. Tried the patch, gum, cold turkey and never lasted for more then 2 days. I have the usual physical symptoms from heavy smoking (2 packs a day). Short of breath and when I lie down to sleep wheezing.

I made the decision to try the electronic cigarette a couple of months ago after being a 2-pack a day smoker for 42 years.  I spent every morning with a hacking cough that lasted about 20 minutes with bad coughing spells throughout the day and severe shortness of breath.  I am on a preventive inhaler and a rescue inhaler for COPD and emphysema.
